The Long Island Chapter of the GOC - GOCLINY - was formed in December of 2008, by several friends who share a passion for riding motorcycles and helping victims of child abuse. This grew into finding ways in helping bring awareness and prevention to our communities across the Island . We work closely with local, county and state agencies and we make ourselves available to support the victims of child abuse.
"The mission of Guardians Of the Children (GOC) is to recognize and react to child abuse and educate the public to do the same; to serve as advocates to provide strength and stability to families in crisis; and be an answer to the prayer of an abused child or teen for courage, support and protection."
Our President Diceman has been actively fighting child abuse for the past 5 years. His knowledge and determination in making sure the job gets done is key to the successful endeavors the GOCLINY takes on.
As Treasurer, Bootlegger brings her talents as a business woman, whose accounting expertise ensures accurate record keeping.
Our secretary, Voo Doo, is a no nonsense, shoot from the hip lady, and her organizational skills are second to none. With the help of her husband Lurch they bring to the chapter, the heart and souls to breathe life into GOCLINY.
Lurch is our Sgt at Arms; His tough stance for the security of the members of the chapter and his huge heart and love of children gives us the best of both worlds for safe and fun events.
Jumpstart is the director of our youth program and brings a caring vibrant passion to our cause.
The rest of the volunteers' that make up the Long Island Chapter of the GOC are all equally committed in their desire to help abused children. Each of them sacrifice an enormous amount of time away from their own families in the hope of being able to make a difference in the fight against child abuse.
